Area schools host community vaping forums

Posted on April 9th, 2019

2018 spring, fall, and winter 2019

Charlevoix Middle High School and Boyne City High School recently held community forums on the growing problem of youth vaping, as well as other risky teen behaviors. In recent months, the trend of teen vaping has become a significant concern for school leaders around Northwest Michigan. Vaping contains many harmful chemicals, including nicotine. Vaping devices continue to change as well, making it challenging for parents, caregivers and school administrators to stay on top of current trends. Other area districts, including Petoskey, East Jordan, Ellsworth and Harbor Springs, have also held community forums on the subject. Other districts have forums planned in the new year.
